FATHER’S DAY BLESSING

Be blessed, dads.
That your heart would be pure and steadfast, captivated by the heart of the Father.
That you would be moved by compassion into action,
showing visible love to your children as your Father loves you.

Be blessed, dads.
That your hands would be strengthened to hold on to what is good.
That the work of your hands would be diligent to build and protect,
and that they would also be softened with tenderness toward your children,
extended to guide them gently as your Heavenly Father guides you.

Be blessed, dads.
That your mind would be filled with wisdom, discernment, and truth.
That the decisions you make in leading your family would not be equated with worldly wisdom, but would be saturated with insights from the Holy Spirit,
having the mind of Christ.

Be blessed, dads.
That your eyes would see the good and be filled with light.
That they would be open to spot opportunities to bring in God’s shalom peace to your home, and that you would see your children as the El Roi God sees them.

Be blessed, dads.
That your mouth would be filled with praise.
That your words would be used to build up and not tear down.
That your children will always know you love them and are proud of them,
because they hear it from you often, as you hear those words from Jesus.

Be blessed, dads.
That your feet would run and leap with joy and gladness.
That there would be playful elation in time spent with your children.
That you would sense the Father’s delight in you as you delight in your kids.

Be blessed, dads.
That your back would be steeled for the load you carry—
to resolve to be a tangible image of an earthly father who, though imperfect, sets the example and clears the path for your children to recognize and know a good and beautiful Heavenly Father.
