DAY 17 – OCT 2
But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
Matthew 6:6
There are many ways to pray to our God in Heaven. However, to overcome the noise of this world we need to find time alone with God with no distractions. Jesus often withdrew to solitary places in the early morning to pray. If the Son of God needed to find this solitude, it stands to reason that we do as well. Even if we aren’t in a building, we need to find a place to “shut the door” on the world and seek the will of our Heavenly Father. Maybe this habit will be developed by walking your dog, going for a jog, or sitting with a cup of coffee in an isolated room. However it is accomplished, this solitary place can be a way for God to breathe life into your soul.
We Pray: Our God in heaven, we know that Your love and power surpasses anything our minds can imagine! Help us to long for time alone with You as we find You waiting in quiet places of solitude. Also, help our prayers to be a joyous time of listening as we seek your will through the Holy Spirit. Thank You for Your leading in our lives in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
