DAY 48 – NOV 2
. . . praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.
Ephesians 6:18.
Now that we are fully equipped with the armor of God, Paul outlines our next step as we battle our enemy. Prayer is many times an underused weapon in our arsenal. It can feel like we are not “doing” anything. However, the key here is to pray in the Spirit. When we pray this way, we are praying in the power of the Spirit, by the leading of the Spirit, and according to His will. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (James 5:16). We have to remember that our righteousness comes not from our own actions but from the saving grace of Jesus. When we pray according to God’s will, our prayers take on a whole new dimension.
We Pray: Heavenly Father, help us to pray for Your Kingdom and Your will on Earth as it is in Heaven (Matthew 6:10). It is all too easy for us to focus on ourselves and not on the suffering of your saints throughout the world. Keep the persecuted believers in our hearts as we pray boldly in Jesus’ name. Amen.
