DAY 41 – OCT 26
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
Ephesians 6:12-13.
It is so easy in our contentious world to forget who our true enemy really is and who we are fighting against. Too often we fight the wrong battles, or (even worse) fight among our own brothers and sisters in Christ. Paul reminds us that we are in spiritual warfare against an unseen enemy who is called the father of lies (John 8:44), who masquerades as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). This highlights the importance of taking up the WHOLE armor of God. We need every weapon possible (both defensive and offensive) if we are to be successful in this battle.
We Pray: God, we love You and are thankful that You love us. You promise to never leave us, and to equip us for every good work. Give us eyes to see our true enemy, and through the victory of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit grant us the courage to not back down. We know we can’t do this without You, and we are grateful for the victory that is Yours, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
