DAY 28 – OCT 13
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Acts 1:8
To continue our discussion from yesterday, Jesus gives us a few more examples on how to do as he did. In his life on earth, Jesus made it his mission to point people to God. He then gives this task to the disciples (and to us should we choose to follow him). A witness is someone who tells others what they saw or experienced. When we “bear witness” to others, we are simply relating what God has done in our lives through Jesus. We don’t need a degree in Christian apologetics or theology to do this. We do need to humbly follow his prompting in this area. God will often draw people to you for this. Be willing to listen for the Holy Spirit to guide you.
We Pray: Almighty God, we are grateful for everything you have done in our lives. As an outpouring of this gratitude, help us to share this good news to those around us. We ask for the Holy Spirit to guide us so we can share this in a loving way. We know You draw people near (John 12:32), but help us be the conduit for your love as they approach. We pray for this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
