DAY 20 – OCT 5
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23
If we stop after the first phrase, this verse can be paralyzing. The second half brings us freedom! Sin is more than just an action. It is also a condition of living in a fallen world. Sin is done by us, to us, and is all around us. We live in a world where it is difficult to do and see good things. If we think of sin as a disease, we can take heart that we have a great physician! Jesus heals us of our sin and brings us back into relationship with God.
We Pray: Heavenly Father, we thank you for salvation through Jesus. You have healed us from these wounds that are both self-inflicted and that have been done to us against our will. We admit we are powerless to do this for ourselves, and we gratefully accept Your forgiveness. Grant us the power to move forward in Your victory and for Your glory, and we will thank You for this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
