DAY 16 – OCT 1
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18
It stands to reason that if we spend time with God, we hope to become more like him. We tend to become more loving by being loved ourselves, not just by reading about it. God desires for us to experience a love that surpasses all understanding (Ephesians 3:19). Doesn’t that sound amazing? This is a love that goes beyond the intellectual reckoning. This love must be experienced to be felt in such a way. Much like a spouse can say “I love you” to his or her partner, without spending time together it is difficult to put feeling behind these words. God wants to express His love for you so you can express His love to the rest of the world. Are you spending the time with him to experience the depth of this love?
We Pray: Heavenly Father, we want to be known by You like David expressed in Psalm 139. In turn, we want to become like You in our ability to love others. To love like Jesus, we first must experience Your love for us. We cannot manufacture a love like this without the Holy Spirit in our lives. Fill us with Your presence, and we will thank you for this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
