Reignite Our Faith
Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
There is too much to unpack here in this short message. As we look to Jesus through faith, we see his example of endurance, humility, and victory through his trials, sacrifice and resurrection. Those who have gone before us are cheering us on as we fight the good fight and finish the race by keeping the faith (2 Timothy 4:7).
We pray: God, we look forward to hearing you say “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:23) at the end of our days. It is our faith in you, Jesus, which will bring us to this finish line. Help us to follow your example as we step out in faith in your name, Amen.
