Reignite Our Faith
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Our culture prides accomplishment and accolades. We are often asked to “boast” by our employers to make them (and us) look good in the eyes in the world. This is not the way that the Kingdom of God is designed. The last will be first (Matthew 20:16) and we are to boast about Jesus, not ourselves (1 Corinthians 1:31).
We pray: Father, it is so easy to get caught up in what the world thinks of us. We can be tempted to boast of what we have done for you instead of what you have done for us. Help us remember that it is our faith in you that brings us salvation. We pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
