Reignite Our Faith
Galatians 2:16
Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
We see here and in other passages the Apostle Paul warning us that our works don’t bring us salvation. We have to first believe, so that we can have faith in Jesus to bring about justification and reconciliation. We don’t have to get our lives “in order” first to approach Jesus. God will do this work in us when we truly put our faith in Christ.
We pray: God, we thank you for loving us first, before we loved you. We put our faith in this love which surpasses all understanding (Ephesians 3:19), and we thank you for this unmerited and undeserved gift. We pray this in gratitude, Amen.
