Reignite Our Mission
Romans 10:13-15
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
Let’s read these verses in reverse for a moment. We are on mission to spread the Good News of Christ. In doing this we must be sent (some of us will go, while some will send). When we are sent, the gospel will be preached and people will hear. When they hear, some will believe. And when they believe, they will call upon the name of Jesus for salvation! Praise God that we all play an important part, whether we are the sent or the senders. Even if you can’t travel overseas, you can support those who can. In the end, Jesus gets all of the glory!
We pray: God, we pray that whether we are senders or goers, that we are faithful to your mission on earth. As there are people who haven’t heard your name both in our country and abroad, it is our responsibility and privilege to share the Good News with them by whatever means is necessary. We pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
