Reignite Our Mission
Acts 1:8
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Just prior to Jesus’ ascension, he gives the apostles the promise of the Holy Spirit. Without this power, these men and women would never have been able to accomplish this task. The same goes for us. As we look at the billions of people who haven’t heard your name, we can become overwhelmed by the numbers. Or, we can realize that through the Holy Spirit, what is humanly impossible is possible only through God (Luke 18:27). And this mission takes place in Jerusalem (Gainesville), Judea (Alachua County) and Samaria (Florida and the US) and to the ends of the earth (globally).
We pray: God, how easy is it to forget the Holy Spirit! We cannot do this in our own strength, and we repent for the times we’ve neglected your counsel as we try to accomplish your work. Help us to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit in all we do for your kingdom, whether across the street or around the world. We pray this in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
