“teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
After people hear of Jesus, the journey doesn’t end there. This is just the starting line! New believers need discipleship (teaching) so their faith will be strengthened. When we become believers, trials will come. Belief becomes faith when it is put in action, and we need to equip these new Christ followers with the tools they need to withstand attacks from enemy. Remember that they will have the same responsibility to pass on this Good News to the next generation.
We pray: God, help us to not just tell others the Good News of your son, but to teach them to obey your commands. This takes time and patience, so we pray for these in ever increasing measure. Discipleship takes community and commitment, so help us to be your ambassadors and instructors through the Holy Spirit so we will be authentic in all we do for your kingdom. We pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
