Reignite Our Passion
1 John 3:16
By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
This verse reminds us of God’s passion for us – that Jesus would willingly serve as a sacrifice in our place, taking on the penalty we deserve. How do we respond to such love? We do this by doing the same for one another. We are reminded that there is no greater love than living sacrificially (John 15:13).
We pray: Our Father in heaven, empower us to let our passion for you manifest itself in our passion for others. We need the Holy Spirit to lead us on the path to those around us that need this passion as well. Jesus, you died for us so that we can live for you (1 Thessalonians 5:10). Help us to die to ourselves so we can lead others to you. We pray this in the matchless name of Jesus, Amen.
