Reignite Our Passion
Romans 12:11
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
The word fervor means “intense and passionate feeling” but in old English it can also mean “intense heat.” It can be difficult to keep our fire for God burning intensely, and we have to stoke the flames and add fuel to the fire to keep it from being extinguished.
We pray: Father, we want to keep our flame burning for you. Don’t let inattention cause us to forget tending the fire of our passion for you. We pray for a fresh wind and fresh fire, like in Acts 2, to descend upon us in a mighty way. We pray for the Holy Spirit to empower us, Amen.
