Reignite Our Passion
Psalm 63:1
O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
David’s passion for God is a wonderful model for us. David didn’t always get everything right, but his heart was focused on God above all. He states that no earthly pleasure could satisfy his desire for God. When we love God like this, our passion for him is unmistakable to the world around us.
We pray: God, we pray for a heart like David’s, who in turn had a heart that sought after you. Don’t let us become distracted by earthly pleasures as we seek in our live to chase after you with a passion like we see in the Psalms. Grant us this joy in your name, Amen.
